#Generative engine optimization
Generative engine optimization, often shortened to GEO, is the practice of making content easy for AI answer engines to find, understand and cite. The term appeared in academic research in 2023 and quickly spread into marketing. In practice it overlaps heavily with good SEO: crawlable pages, clear structure, accurate facts and a recognisable brand.
